Widespread light rain with embedded showers are expected to continue through the evening hours across portions of the Piney Woods of northeast Texas...northwest Louisiana as well as southwest Arkansas. Rainfall amounts are expected to be light. However... additional showers and thunderstorms...some with pockets of heavy rainfall will be possible across the region late tonight.

Miller... Nevada... Sevier and Union AR. In Louisiana... Bienville... Bossier... Caddo... Caldwell... Claiborne... De Soto... Grant... Jackson... La Salle... Lincoln... Natchitoches... Ouachita... Red River... Sabine La... Union la... Webster and Winn. In southeast Oklahoma... McCurtain. In Texas... Angelina... Bowie... Camp... Cass... Cherokee... Franklin... Gregg... Harrison... Marion... Morris... Nacogdoches... Panola... Red River... Rusk... Sabine TX... San Augustine... Shelby... Smith... Titus... Upshur and wood.
* From 7 PM CDT this evening through late Wednesday night
* an upper level low has become nearly stationary today near the Red River of North Texas. Ingredients are coming together for a long duration... heavy rainfall event across the four state region. In addition to the rain which feel last night and today... rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches... with locally higher totals... appear possible through the next 36 hours. Most of the rain is expected to occur tonight through Wednesday... tapering Wednesday night.
* Residents... particularly those in flood prone areas... as well as those living near small streams... creeks... and rivers should be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding is observed.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts during the next 24 to 36 hours.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
