Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will continue across parts of North Texas through 6 PM. Most of the rain will be concentrated along and north of Interstate 20 through late afternoon. Some areas have already received excessive rainfall so localized flash flooding will remain a concern through the afternoon. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than 1/2 inch...with isolated heavier amounts in excess of 1 inch through 6 PM.

* the following counties. In north central Texas... Bell... Bosque... Collin... Cooke... Dallas... Denton... Ellis... Falls... Fannin... Freestone... Grayson... hill... Hood... Hunt... Jack... Johnson... Kaufman... Limestone... McLennan... Montague... Navarro... Palo Pinto... Parker... Rockwall... Somervell... Tarrant... wise and Young. In northeast Texas... Anderson... Delta... Henderson... Hopkins... Lamar... Leon... rains and Van Zandt. In south central Texas... Milam and Robertson.
* Through this evening
* an upper low is currently spinning over western portions of North Texas and will continue to slide east across the region today. Scattered heavy rainfall is expected to continue today with the threat for flash flooding continuing through the evening hours. Several locations in the watch area have already been inundated with several inches of rain and any new rain will run off quickly. Rainfall totals through today could approach an additional four inches in some locations resulting in additional or potentially significant flash flooding.
* Flooding of low lying areas... creeks... ditches... and secondary roads is likely.
