Statement as of 10:47 PM PDT on September 4, 2008 |

A red flag warning remains in effect until 11 am PDT Saturday for strong winds and low relative humidity for fire weather zones 618 619 620 621 in southern Oregon and 280 in northwestern Siskiyou County of California.
A strong thermal trough along the coast will produce windy conditions and poor humidity recoveries on the ridges of extreme southwestern Oregon and northwestern Siskiyou County in northern California through Saturday morning. Humidities will remain very low through the day.
Northeast winds of 10 to 25 mph will continue over the ridges through Saturday morning with poor overnight humidity recoveries of 20 to 35 percent. Minimum daytime humidities inland will be 10 to 30 percent... with the lowest readings in the valleys of western Siskiyou County.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
