... Storm information...

At 200 am EDT... the center of Tropical Storm Hanna was located
just offshore near latitude 33.3 north... longitude 78.8 west or
about 30 miles south of Myrtle Beach and about 60 miles southwest
of Wilmington North Carolina.

Hanna is moving toward the north-northeast near 21 mph. This
motion is expected to continue during the next several hours with
a gradual turn to the northeast and an increase in forward speed
today and tomorrow. On the forecast track... the center of Hanna
will make landfall near the border between South Carolina and
North Carolina within the next couple of hours... then move across
eastern North Carolina later this morning.

Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph... with higher gusts.
Although no significant change in strength is forecast before
landfall of the center in south or North Carolina... it would only
take a small increase in wind speed for Hanna to become a
hurricane. Weakening is expected after landfall.

The latest minimum central pressure was 983 mb or 29.03 inches.

... Winds...

The latest buoy observation from Frying Pan Shoals was showing
sustained winds at 37 knots with gusts up to 51 knots. Sustained
tropical storm force winds will continue through early Saturday
morning. In addition... a few gusts up to 70 kt are possible.
Winds will begin to diminish from south to north during Saturday.
Seas will range from 25 to 30 ft through the early morning... then
slowly subside through the day.

... Tornadoes...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect. The potential will exist for
tornadic waterspouts as Hanna moves into the area. The threat for
tornadoes and waterspouts is usually highest to the northeast and
east of the storm center.
