... New information...

Tropical Storm Hanna is heading toward the southeast United
States coast. The center of Tropical Storm Hanna was estimated
near latitude 26.5 north... longitude 76.3 west or about about 825
miles south southeast of Fenwick Island Delaware.

... Areas affected...

This statement recommends actions to be taken by persons in...
Atlantic coastal waters... central Delaware... southern Delaware...
Delaware Bay waters... northeast Maryland and southern New Jersey.

... Watches/warnings...

No additional watches/warnings are in effect.

... Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Persons are advised to pay particular attention to the future
track of Tropical Storm Hanna. A slight variation in that track
would mean extending tropical storm watches farther north or
inland and tropical storm warnings could be raised at some point
for conditions expected on Saturday.

... Storm surge and storm tide...

Coastal storm surge flooding of 2 to 4 feet above normal tide
levels... along with large and dangerous battering waves... can be
expected near and to the east of the path of the center of Hanna.

Sustained winds of tropical storm force... greater than 39 mph
with gust up to 60 mph... are possible beginning early Saturday
morning and lasting into the late afternoon.

Tropical Storm Hanna could produce wind gusts similar to the
mothers day storm 2008.

... Probability of hurricane/tropical storm conditions...

For Millville NJ...

There is a 45 percent chance of winds 39 mph or greater especially
early Saturday through Saturday afternoon.

For Cape May NJ...

There is a 50 percent chance of winds 39 mph or greater especially
early Saturday through Saturday afternoon.

For Atlantic City NJ...

There is a 50 percent chance of winds 39 mph or greater especially
early Saturday through Saturday afternoon.

... Inland flooding...
rain will begin across northeast Maryland late Friday night into
early Saturday... with the heaviest rains directly associated with
Hanna occurring Saturday morning through mid Saturday afternoon.
Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are possible. These amounts could
cause flash flooding of small streams... creeks... and highly
urbanized areas. The heaviest rains will be west of the coastal
areas but isolated heavy thunderstorms are possible.

Small craft should remain in port on Saturday. Boat owners should
check their moorings.
