Statement as of 8:31 PM CDT on September 05, 2008

From the National Weather Service in Little Rock ... the flood
advisory continues for
the White River at Newport.
* Until Saturday evening.
* At 5:00 PM Friday the stage was 21.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 24.0 feet tomorrow evening
and remain near this level into Sunday morning before beginning
to fall.
