... Flood Watch now in effect through Sunday afternoon...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of AK... including the following area... western
Prince William Sound.

* Through Sunday afternoon

Beginning late tomorrow afternoon moderate to heavy precipitation
is forecast for the eastern Kenai Peninsula and the Portage
Valley. Local rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches could occur
between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Recent rainfall
has wet the soil and it will not take a lot of additional rain to
saturate the soil and produce significant surface runoff.

Moderate to rapid rises on rivers and streams in the affected
areas is likely and significant ponding and overbank conditions
are possible.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding.

You are encourage to closely monitor this weather situation.
Preparation for this potentially dangerous weather event should
begin now.
